Playing Style & Musical Style Menus

The two style selections that you make here provide you with different rhythmic

accompaniment patterns. Click the arrow symbol to open one of these menus.

In the Playing Style menu, select an instrument from the list. The selection you make here

has an impact on what's available on the Musical Style local menu.

In the Musical Style menu, select the musical style the instrument should use. Now you

can select one of the available chord phrases. This is done using the Phrase Keys.

Phrase Keys

With Chord mode active, twelve different chord

phrases are available for each musical style.

These can be selected using the keys in the C1

octave of your controller keyboard or on the on-

screen keyboard. On the on-screen keyboard,

the phrase keys are marked by a different color.

You can audition the available phrases by

individually pressing each key in the C1 octave.

The chord phrase keys are used for selecting any of the available chord phrases. Available

phrases are played based on the last note played. For example, if the last note played was

C, all of the phrases would be based on C.

To define an octave for the resulting accompaniment phrase, you can use the On-screen

Keyboard Octave buttons, described in On-Screen Keyboard Octave Buttons.
